Your keys stay on your Mac.

Woodpecker plays a sound for each key you press, and that is where your keys stop. It records nothing you type and collects nothing about you. Here is everything it reads, what it keeps, the two things it sends, and what this website does.

What Woodpecker reads, and why

Woodpecker reads these on your Mac, only to do its job. None of it leaves your Mac.

There are no analytics in the app.

What stays on your Mac

What goes online, and only this

Buying opens the checkout in your browser.

This website

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count visits and see which pages people read. It knows nothing about what you type in Woodpecker, and Woodpecker itself does not use it.

The sound demo on the home page runs in your browser. The keys you type there are played and shown on the page, and never sent anywhere.

Checkout happens on Dodo Payments, who handle your payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive your email address and the order, so we can send your key and help if something goes wrong.

Acknowledgements

Woodpecker's switches are cut, cleaned and levelled from recordings in two MIT-licensed open source projects. The sounds in the app and on this page are made from those recordings and are shared under the same licenses. Thank you to their authors.
